Last week I talked a little about the health benefits of alkaline water. This week some more.
Remember science class: the pH level scale?
0= acidic and 14 being alkaline?
Well, to keep your body in good shape and make sure your organs etc. can properly do what they're supposed to do, they'd like you to keep your pH levels in balance...
Research show that the average pH level of your blood should be 7,41.
So slightly on the alkaline side.
Too much alkalinity won't get you going either...
Its all about balance.
What's that got to do with greener photography?
Well: we want to be in good shape and health.
Plus reduce 'the stuff'. Avoid everything unnecessary and redundant.
Acidic environments are a good breeding ground for disease.
Being sick means: over the counter drugs, more money, transport, devices...
In that way I see it's green to drink clean alkaline water.
What does alkaline water do for you?
Alkaline water contains more anti-oxidants. They neutralise the damage free radicals can cause.
Drinking alkaline water stimulates the body to produce bicaronate so your levels won't get too acidic.
How to get alkaline water?
there are several ways. I googled online and saw:
- special machines
Usually stores like Whole Foods & Mrs. Greens have bottles of ready to go alkaline water and all the mentioned above.
Is water the only way to balance your pH levels?
Nope! Food, breath, movement, sleep, how you feel all influence your body's general pH level.
It is a huge topic to cover and I'd like to keep things simple.
I'm sure we'll get to that at some point...
