"That's exactly what a Moodwalk is about. Recently Niene.nu took me and my friends for a Moodwalk. It was refreshing to use your camera in a completely different way.  Our assignment wasn't about shutterspeeds or settings of the camera, but an abstract one. That's when the real seeing starts. How many shades of green can you get?
Our Moodwalk was very relaxing and got us involved in fun spontanious conversations with strangers passing by.
But the most fun was seeing each others photo's and noticing how we captured the same yet from a very different perspective. I can really recommend a Moodwalk!
Now I even sometimes give myself a little moodwalk-assignment when I go outside. Just to focus on something different. "

For the very first  edition of the "Festival of the Geest"  (an art and cultural festival with a plus),  I asked Niene.nu to come up with a plan, an activity for our thursday afternoon and evening.  
This assignment was  simple yet difficult.
It had to involve photography, be interactive, easy to do and accessible for a wider audience. 
Plus time was pressing, so fast action was required.
Niene.nu came up with a beautiful project, in collaboration with two other photographers, called Focus on the Geest" (=Mind/Ghost/Spirit in Dutch).
Al our wishes were met and even our location (The New Church) played a huge part in the project.
In a special, lovely booth, our festival visitors were asked to join in a conversation about their perception of 'Geest', they then went through the building and created a still that reflected their words.
The result was a very personal image, which they later on received.
Because of the success of this project, there was an additional exhibition in a gallery in Groningen.
And because of the enthusiastic and professional effort of these three photographers, “Focus on the Geest” was one of the most successful segments of our festival.

Niene is a fantastic photographer that uses her experience and attitude for all she is trying to achieve 
with her Moodlab. Niene creates personal and appealing images that are near to her, but also convey a universal message. She takes pictures with an eye for detail and she creates unique work by merging several images, which is not only beautiful but also thought provoking. 
I am very pleased that I was able to buy several works from various series. 
It was a beautiful process in which she showed to really think cooperatively and professionaly about what might appeal to me. I look happily at her work every day and let me be inspired by it. Niene knows how to express her thoughts in pictures in a way that you can not help but be touched by it!
